Below are the biographies of the people who have been nominated to one of the ten general church commissions, councils, or committees. Toward the end of the General Conference, delegates will elect the proper number of members for each group (see Council and Commission Nominations). The Nominations Committee considered all the nominees proposed by the various annual conferences and attempted to put forward a list of recommended nominees that reflected the global makeup of the church and balanced continuity with the need for fresh ideas and participation. Once the recommended slate was published, annual conferences re-nominated people whom they believed should still be considered outside the recommended slate. All will appear equally on the ballot. Those marked “Recommended” are those the Nominations Committee recommends for election to the corresponding group. Those who are current members of the group are also noted.
