Vacation Bible School
(Children’s Bible Camp)
A five-day VBS program for children in the community, hosted in partnership with a local GMC church. Each day will include Bible teaching, worship, crafts, and activities.
Monday, August 31 – Friday, September 4,
1:00–5 p.m (1-3 p.m. Wednesday).
Location: Soweto
Needs:
- 20 volunteers
- Cooking, serving, and clean-up as part of the feeding ministry
- Children’s ministry workers to lead the VBS program
Christian Discipleship
Discussions
Adult discipleship small groups will gather after the meal each day to explore the characteristics of the Global Methodist Church and how these values can transform lives and communities.
Monday, August 31 – Friday, September 4
1:00–5:00 p.m (1-3 p.m Wednesday)
Location: Soweto
Needs:
20 volunteers to join local church leaders in facilitating and participating in discussions
Clergy & Leadership Training
Focused on Wesleyan biblical teaching and leadership formation, this training will equip clergy and lay leaders with GMC distinctives, the catechism, and other key resources.
Monday, August 31 – Friday, September 1,
Leave Sandton at 7:30 a.m.–1:00 p.m.
Location: Soweto
Needs:
- 20 volunteers
- A few experienced teachers/leaders
- Volunteers to prepare and serve lunch each day
Health Checks
Basic health checkups will be provided by doctors and healthcare workers at local church sites, alongside a hot meal for all participants. Prayer and spiritual encouragement will also be offered.
Saturday, August 29 – Tuesday, September 1
1:00–4:00 p.m.
Location: Saturday-Soweto, Monday-Alexandra, Tuesday-Tokoza
Needs:
- 20 volunteers
- Doctors and healthcare professionals
- Volunteers to prepare/distribute food and pray with participants
Spirit & Truth Prayer and Evangelism
An open training session on prayer and evangelism, equipping participants with tools for community building and outreach. Afterward, teams will go into Johannesburg communities for practical ministry alongside GMC churches.
Saturday, August 29
9:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m.
Location: Uncle Tom Event Center
Needs:
- 250 volunteers/participants.
