I, Rev. Bazel Yoila Yayuba, am from the hamlet of Sayonti in Mayolope, Taraba State, Nigeria. Over the years, Taraba State University awarded me a Bachelor of Education in Christian Religious Studies and a Diploma in Theology (DTH), Christian Religious/Christian Ministry (DCRE/DCM) from Banyam Theological Seminary (BTS).
Along with my theological education, I have the following ministry experiences:
- From 2023 to 2024, I was a member of the Global Methodist Church's Transitional Leadership Council.
- The GMC's Transitional Leadership Council has also named me president Pro-Tem to supervise the Southern Nigeria Annual Conference in 2024.
- As the Conference Superintendent for the GMC Southern Nigeria Annual Conference, I am able to collaborate closely with the Presiding Bishop to oversee all 19 of the Conference's districts starting in 2025.
- As the Registrar of the Board of Ordained Ministry (BOM) for the Conference from 2012 to 2016, I also gained experience in preparing clergy for ordination and maintaining records of all clergy.
- In the following districts, I have also held the position as District Superintendent:
- Kona District
- Among others, Sunkani/Taraba West
- From 2013 to 2015, I was the Director of Connectional Ministry (CCO) for the Southern Nigeria Annual Conference. In this role, I oversaw the conference's work plan, monitored and assessed all programs, and reported to the Bishop and Conference.
- I have also had several positions as a pastor in charge.
- I have the gift of patience and humility when it comes to leadership, which has made it simpler for me to get to know my church and leaders.
