Andy Postell is a leader who unites teams across the business sector and the church by empowering teams through effective vision casting and servant leadership. A two-decade entrepreneur in private business preceded twenty years of ministry leading the local church. His ministry experience has centered on church planting, where he played key roles in three church plants as a core member, executive pastor, and founding pastor. He also led a historically white church to become a multi-ethnic, intergenerational congregation through revitalization. In each role, Andy strengthened disciple-making pathways to multiply disciples, leaders, and small groups. In addition to his work in the local church, Andy has combined his business experience and ministry experience to coach leaders at Fortune 500 companies across the globe. A PCC-certified coach, he’s credentialed by the International Coaching Federation, specializing in emotional intelligence and organizational change. He helps business leaders integrate faith into their work lives. Andy also coaches Global Methodist church planters across the United States through his work with The River Network. In 2022, Andy joined the GMC and has served the North Georgia Conference as Conference Superintendent, Conference Operating Officer, and Chair of Multiplication. Andy has been married to Claire for 38 years. They have two adult children, Lathem, a GMC Elder, and Lydia, who teaches second grade. They also have two grandchildren, Evy and Lincoln. When not working, Andy and Claire often retreat to the North Georgia mountains and enjoy time together on the waters of Lake Chatuge. Andy practices shared leadership. He believes that we will always be better when clergy and laity work together to accomplish the vision of making disciples and spreading scriptural holiness. A leader must be willing to take risks, give others permission, activate gifts, use influence rather than control, and stay grounded in their own faith.
