Personal missional statement: my mission is to inspire people to become Christ-like and develop into full God-given potential to serve God and people. Born in 1970 in Kazakhstan, Soviet Union, as a 4th generation Korean-Russian. Grew up as an atheist during Cold War era. Became a Christian during student years in Moscow (1992) through the mission work of American Methodist missionary Jonathan Park. Married to Viktoriia Nogai, two daughters. Currently live in Moscow, Russia. Blessed to receive education and training in Russia (Engineering and Theological) and in the USA (MDiv and DMin). Served in various leadership roles including youth and college student ministry on local church level, district and conference levels; pastored churches in Moscow and St.Petersburg, served as district superintendent in Russia and Kazakhstan/Kyrgyzstan. Served as assistant to the bishop for Eurasia area, and as bishop since 2012. Joyfully used the spiritual gifts of teaching, leadership and administration for the church locally and globally. Taught various courses on pastoral leadership, missions, Methodist theology and discipline at Moscow Methodist Seminary, Baltic Methodist Seminary, and Centers for Church Leadership in Ukraine, Kazakhstan/Kyrgyzstan, Vladivostok. War with Ukraine is the most challenging experience in my life. As a certified coach (ICF) lead coaching sessions on cabinet level and individually with district superintendents and pastors. Love cross cultural experience, richness of different cultures and languages in our Global Methodist Church, meeting new people and learning from others. Feel called to write texts to help our churches grow. So far was able to write brochures with commentaries on selected sermons of John Wesley (in Russian), on Methodism in Russia, book on Church Leadership in the Wesleyan Spirit. In free time enjoy hiking and different sports activities, cooking with children and joking with friends. Grateful to serve as GMC bishop and to be a episcopal nominee.
