My name is Brian Ebel, and I am grateful for the opportunity to share my story. I grew up in the Church, but drifted away during my college years. Thankfully, the Lord never wastes anything – He used that season to shape me and later help me relate more deeply to others. During college, I met my wife, Mandy, who led me to faith, and near the end of college at a Good Friday service, I gave my life to Jesus Christ.Soon after, Mandy and I were married, and we began attending a Methodist Church. My first career was with an accounting firm, where I worked in practice management and strategic development. While I loved serving in the church, I never envisioned myself in ministry until one night the Lord called me into ministry, sharing I would love and lead His people, minister the Word, and bring about revival wherever I was sent. For the past 24 years, I have served as a pastor in a wide range of settings—rural, urban, suburban, large and small—and have also planted a new church. In each setting, I have seen the Lord bring growth, and watched the Holy Spirit use earlier experiences in my life – both in the wilderness and corporate world – to help me connect with people from all walks of life. I have also taught theology and preaching at Asbury Theological Seminary from 2012-2024. Currently, I serve in Global Methodist leadership on the Ministry and Higher Education Commission as the Chairperson of the Committee on Approval, and also as Chairperson of the Mid-South Church Planting Committee.I hold a B.S.B.A. from Aquinas College, pursued M.B.A. studies at Western Michigan University, a Master of Divinity from Asbury Theological Seminary, and Ph.D. in Theology from Middlesex University (UK).
