My name is Isaac D. Salgado, 51 years old, originally from Mexico. I have been married to Patricia for twenty-seven years, and we are proud parents of two adult daughters. I earned a degree in Chemical and Systems Engineering and felt God calling me into ministry during this time.In 2002, following God’s call, my family and I relocated from Mexico to Georgia, USA, to plant a Hispanic church in Albany and serve a congregation in Morgan. I also began my Master of Divinity at Asbury Theological Seminary, graduating in 2006.In 2004, I received a cross-cultural appointment at Lake Park UMC, where I served as senior pastor for the Spanish congregation and associate pastor for the English congregation. Concurrently, I was appointed to Tyson Memorial in Moultrie. In November 2015, I became senior pastor at Lake Park UMC. In 2019, I moved to Waynesboro FUMC, where I served for four years. In July 2023, I transferred from the United Methodist Church to the Global Methodist Church, and I currently serve at Trinity Methodist Church. This season has been one of change and challenge, yet the Holy Spirit continues to move powerfully, and God remains faithful.Throughout my ministry, I have learned to prioritize purposeful activities aligned with the church’s vision and help us make disciples who love and follow Jesus. My journey has been defined by cross-cultural experiences, allowing me to bridge diverse communities. I am convinced that we must intentionally embrace the rich diversity within our denomination and encourage all members to share their unique gifts and talents, fostering unity as one body. Embracing different perspectives will enable us to grow together and witness God’s work in new and transformative ways.
