Rev. Dr. Jerry Kulah hails from Liberia, West Africa. He came to personal faith in Christ in 1977 and was discipled through the ministries of Youth for Christ and the Great Commission Movement. He is married to Ruth Chea Kulah, and their union is blessed with four children and many dependents. Dr. Kulah holds a Doctor of Ministry degree in Leadership from Asbury Seminary, Wilmore, KY, USA (2010) and is a PhD candidate studying Contextual Theology, with emphasis in Discipleship, at Anglia Ruskin University, UK.Rev. Dr. Kulah is an Evangelist, Pastor, Teacher, and Administrator, with 29 years of full-time ministry experience. He currently serves as the Conference Superintendent of the Grain Coast Conference. Dr. Kulah has demonstrated distinguished leadership in the exercise of his gifts and graces with indelible impacts on the church and society in Liberia, Africa and the world. Dr. Kulah served his former denomination in several capacities from 1997 to 2024: as a local pastor (1998-2001); Director of Evangelism and Missions (2001-2007); District Superintendent (2007-2014); Professor of Biblical and Theological studies, including Wesleyan theology and history, Dean and Vice President at the United Methodist University, Liberia (1997-2024).Dr. Kulah is an acclaimed writer, international speaker and conference facilitator. He served as guest speaker at the 2023 “Beyond These Walls” conference in Texas, USA. At the 2008 General Conference in Fort Worth, Texas, he was guest speaker at the Reformed and Renewal Coalition Breakfast Meeting. He was a delegate to the 2012, 2016, 2019, and 2024 General Conferences of the United Methodist Church. Dr. Kulah led the formation of the UMC Africa Initiative in 2012 and served as its General Coordinator. This Movement played a pivotal role in contending for the faith until its recent dissolution due to the formation of Global Methodist Conferences across Africa.
