Rev. Dr. Tom Mabry is in his 26th year of full-time ministry and currently serves as senior pastor of Shady Grove GMC in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, where he has led for the past 11 years. Prior to entering ministry, Tom had a successful career in banking, bringing valuable leadership experience to his pastoral work.He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from Catawba College and a Master of Divinity from Hood Theological Seminary, both located in Salisbury, North Carolina. He also earned a Doctor of Ministry degree from Asbury Theological Seminary in Wilmore, Kentucky, as a Beeson Scholar. His doctoral research focused on spiritual formation and the development of lay leadership.Tom has played a significant role in the formation and leadership of the North Carolina Conference of the Global Methodist Church. He served on the Transitional Conference Advisory Team (TCAT) during its formation, was vice chair of the initial Episcopacy Committee, and currently serves as chair of the Conference Leadership Team. He also chaired the North Carolina Annual Conference Task Force in 2024 and 2025.In addition to his pastoral and denominational leadership, Tom serves as an adjunct professor of pastoral theology at Hood Theological Seminary, where he has taught leadership and change management in the Master of Divinity program. In 2024, he was appointed Director of Global Methodist Studies at Hood, where he recruited Global Methodist clergy as adjunct faculty and launched the Global Methodist certificate program in fall 2025.Tom and his wife, Adele, have four adult children and ten grandchildren. They reside in High Point, North Carolina.
