Lathem is a lifelong Methodist and a native to Northwest, GA. Lathem heard a call to ministry in his adolescence when his family moved to Cartersville, and it was shortly after that he began leading and preaching in local churches. It was in Cartersville that Lathem met his wife, Kami. After years of dating, they were married in 2019. They welcomed their first child, a daughter named Evy, in 2022. They also welcomed their second child, a son named Lincoln, in 2025.Lathem attended Young Harris College where he earned a BA in Religious Studies. He then attended the Candler School of Theology where he earned a Master of Divinity. In 2016, Lathem began serving as the pastor at Center Valley Methodist Church. After graduating from Candler in 2020, he was appointed to serve as the Associate Pastor at Due West Methodist Church in Marietta, GA. In August of 2022, Lathem began serving as the Senior Pastor at Sam Jones Methodist Church.Alongside serving in the local church, Lathem has been involved at all levels in the Methodist movement. Lathem was elected to serve as a delegate to the 2016 and 2019 General Conferences during his time in the UMC. This included serving on the Standing Committee on Central Matters and the Connectional Table. After disaffiliation, Lathem served as a member of the North Georgia TCAT and subsequently served on the Connectional Council of the North Georgia Annual Conference. He has also served on the Annual Conference planning team, as the Chair of the Communications Team, and as the Chair of the Emerging Generations Team. He currently serves as the Vice Chair of the Board of Ministry.When not serving at the church, you can find Lathem playing golf or pickleball, cooking, or watching the Atlanta Braves or Georgia Bulldogs.
